Weakest Link

It is said, "A "chain is only as strong as its weakest link".

This thing happened with my lunch bag last week and it was such a live example...

In life, any system is only as good as that - its weakest link...

We don't compete, We complete...

Ok...it seems that humanoid robot Sophia landed in Kolkata yesterday after travelling 65 odd countries for an interactive session in India.

So, on news, I happened to listen to a snippet of that interactive session. To one of the questions from a professor - "So, do you robots compete with human intelligence?", pat comes the reply from Sophia - "No, we don't compete with it, we complete it!"

I didn't see that coming...I was like wow! To respond that way, the humanoid must have been programmed with a lot of emotional intelligence. It drastically changed the way I view robots.

Jalebi - It's Sweet!

So, I watched this movie 2 weeks ago. I'm now in that phase of life where I'm really happy and in peace. In peace with all that has happened in my life so far. I couldn't have watched the movie at a better time than this.

The movie is about letting go. I don't want to write much about the movie or review it in anyway. Of all, I don't want to write anything that might be a spoiler for those who want to watch the movie. I'll only write here about my favorite things in the movie.

The song - Yeh Tera Mera Rishta! I didn't quite pay attention to the song when I watched the movie. It was a silent part of the movie and was just another song to me when I heard it first. But boy! Can a song on love get more beautiful? (Well may be it can! Like the Tamil song Maruvaarthai or numerous other songs I haven't had the luck to hear or pay attention to...)

We have seen amazing lyrics for songs on love. On how it's amorphous and eternal. How it's God-like and how it makes (or breaks) life and how it is life itself! But this song is one of a kind for me, for it talks about the truths of love in such a straight-forward and beautiful way...the challenges in the journey that is love.

I wouldn't bother to write the Hindi lyrics here, you can listen to them here. I'll just write the English translation of its parts (the way I read them) for those readers who don't understand Hindi.

"Isn't this bond of ours designed by God?
Isn't it why we were made to meet here on Earth?

Absorb (or destroy) me within you. (Or to put it simply - Take me in)
And make me like you.
And if I ever get lost somewhere,
Find me and give me (back to me).

Oh yeah, I was bestowed with you by the destinies now... (Mind you, the writer did not just use the word 'destiny')
But hope the two destinies meeting, don't get lost..
Come live the whole life in this moment,
But hope these two lives don't become strangers to each other again...

Isn't this bond of ours designed by God?
Isn't it why we were made to meet here on Earth?

Take me in
And make me like you.
And if I ever get lost somewhere,
Find me and give me back to me."

If you see, it talks about the dilemmas in love so softly. And know what, love is not just about two people meeting, but it is two destinies meeting. I should rather say, for love to be manifested in the physical, it requires two destinies to merge and become one destiny. And that's not easy. Not at all easy. It's not all about two people coming together, being compatible or adjusting with each other. It's more than that. The song says that. The movie discusses that!

To this day...to me...two people in such kind of love for each other, being able to live together, sharing their lives, is a matter of great coincidence or sheer magic or simply the result of labour of lifetimes. Don't know which one of it, but sure one if it.

Coming back to the favourites, "Pal" and "Mera pyar tera pyar" are nice songs too...

Some lines I like in the movie...

"Out of the world is the love of those who are not destined to meet!" (Why? My answer for that, a more practical version than the filmy answer...is for another day!)

"If you can't take something to its righteous destination/culmination, then let it go at a beautiful turn..."

Locking the memories!!

So, I watched some really good movies in the last two months. But you know right? Memories fade away. But, I didn't really want to forget the way I felt when I watched these movies first.

I've been planning to write reviews or whatever (not really reviews...but how the movies made me feel), but haven't been able to do that. I'm finally writing this post to serve as an obligation/reminder to push me to write. Watch out this space (if any body is watching that is!)...

I'll be doing it in stack mode (LIFO)...Doesn't matter but just wanted to say, don't know why lol!
